Savage Sav-age has gone up the river to continue his labor. Weather very warm during the dav but very pleasant at night. Fruit is ripening fast. This ward has had another call for missionaries; it is not known vet who the lucky ones will be. Oliver Stratum and wife, of passed thru here on the 12th inst. en-route en-route home from conference. The Mutual Improvement Associations Associa-tions gave a picnic on the 13th. They have discontinued their work for the summer. WASHINGTON. Mrs. Elizabeth Iverson has gone to LaVerkin. The Fourth of July will be celebrated in grand style. Miss Allie Iverson arrived home from Gunlock on the 1-tth inst. Walter Slack of Toquerville is here this week taking the census. Born A son to the wife of Miller Iverson on the 18th inst.; all well. Mrs. Robert Parker left for Circle-ville Circle-ville on the loth inst. to visit relatives. Born A daughter to the wife of Joseph Judd on the 15th inst.; all concerned con-cerned doing nicely. Miss Hattie Redd of Bluff, San Juan Co., is visiting her grandparents here, Charles Westover, Sr., and wife. SPRING DALE. Wheat and barley is beginning to ripen. T. Hepworth has gone to the Washington Wash-ington mill. Our bishop has gone to Long Valley on cattle business. John R. and Dan Crawford have gone to the ranch, the latter to take the place of his brother. W. L., herding sheep; W. L. will do photographing while at home. DUXKEIiVJLLE. Figs and currants are now added to the list of ripe fruits. Edward Cox has gone to the Muddy with cattle for Brigharn Whitmore Nephi Hunt has gone to DeLamar with a load of chickens and vegetables. Mr. Church, one of Uucle Sam's enumerators, was taking the census here last week. A committee has been appointed for the Fourth of July celebration and a good time is expected. E. Bunker, Jr., and others are at Beaver Dams today, the 18th, delivering deliver-ing cattle to Joseph Commerilh. Supt. Maloy of the Key West mine has just returned from Salt Lake city, and has given the Hughes Bros, of Mesquite a contract to furnish fifteen thousand feet of lumber for the mine. Orange W. Earl, who has been taking tak-ing a missionary course at the B. Y. Academy, returned home on the 14th inst. to see his relatives and friends before starting on his mission to the Society Islands. He expects to sail from San Francisco on the 15th of July. OVEHTOX. M. W. Gibson is ill. Harvesting about finished; second crop of lucern being cut and stacked. Mrs. Huntsman of St. Joseph has been quite ill, but is a little better now. Sanford S. Angell is hauling materials ma-terials for a hard white clay dwelling house. Thomas Johnson, has recovered from his illness. He has let a contract to Jesse Cooper to carry the mails from Panaca to the Pockets, in the Meadow Valley wash, for $M0 per annum. HOCKVILLH. Preparations are being made for a errand time on the 4th and 24th of July. Our committee has been canvassing the town for the coming County Fair. William Langston started for Kanab on the 20th inst. with a load of fresh fruit. Frank Pettv and family started for Mount Trum'ble, where Mr. Petty owns and runs a sawmill, on the Win. GKAFTON. Dr. Chft of St. George was here on the 20th inst. Crops are looking well; wheat is beginning to turn.
