Which couldn't have been much worse that what they saw at Spanish Fork. 8-- 7-- 1 It was rainy, cold and extremely windy at the Don's field as the Pioneers could only manage five hits and left six on base. There were only three strikeouts on Lehi; an indication that they were making contact only the ball Jidn't go anywhere. Mike Gray was the leading hitter going and probably could f ind something to hit in a wind tunnel. Mike Schneider had the fn'y RBI. Matt Felix and Jason - 2-- 3 Yates shared in the pitching duties and in reality did a pretty good job giving up four earned runs. The Pioneer defense had five errors. Back at home it was an entirely different game as Brock Jones went the entire seven innings to notch his first shutout; he gave up three .hits and had 11 strikeouts. Jones was given a lot of help from the" defense including a tremendous throw from Mike Schneider who put the ball right on the line from center field to third base. A major league play. Mike Gray again led the hitting; he was four for four with four RBIS. Matt Felix was three for four and an RBI. Josie is the daughter of Randy and Annette Pace of Lehi. Afun and active member of LHS, Josie serves as president of the Spanish club. She is also amember of the National Honor Society, Spirit Squad, and Prom Committee. She has also participated in the science club. Josie has received the National English Merit Award, Presidential Academic Fitness Award, Board of Education Science Award, and has recently been nominated to Who's Who Among American High School Students. She has taken advanced placement biology and currently takes AP English Language and Composition, while maintaining a 3.895 grade point average. Tuesday they played Bingham and won The score was tied at half time. With eleven minutes left, Brim Grimleyreceivedtheballfrom Mike Christofferson and dribbled toward the Bingham goal. With a minor defender on his buck, and the goalie coming out, Ben pushed theball past the keeper, ran around him, and then put the ball sway with a 'no angle' shot. J.iehi's defense was led by Mark Christensen, Adam Kolowich and Steve Vicchrilli. In addition, fresh-ma- n Jayson Chamberlain played outstanding when he filled in for an injured Joe Nielsen. Joe went down just three minutes into the match with a hurt ankle. Goalkeeper Calv in Rasmussen made ten saves.
