Weber County CERT Council Provides Emergency Response Training Exercise The Weber County CERT Council is offering a Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) exercise on April 26. The training will include a CERT hands-on mock disaster exercise, and is being offered to anyone who has already completed the basic CERT training course. In addition to the mock disaster, there will be a Weather Spotter training and lunch. The event is being held at South Ogden Junior High, 4300 Madison Avenue, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m., with orientation beginning at 8:00 a.m. There is no charge for this exercise, but please bring your CERT gear because you will need it for the mock disaster. In addition, if you have a Family Response Radio, please bring this as well. Snacks and lunch will be provided. We will also try to do ID badges that day. This exercise will be comprised of an overview of ICS utilizing Causality Collection Points, and Mock Disaster Weather Spotter Training with Kevin Barjenbruch of the National Weather Service. We will start the day by having a brief overview of ICS and organizing team formations for the mock disaster. Participants will also be trained as to where and how to utilize the Causality Collection Point Sheds located around Weber County. A Safety Briefing for everyone will also be held before the exercise begins. Please RSVP Tammy Folkman at 778-6686 or <tfolkman@co.weber.ut.us> as a head count is needed for lunch.
