As a Designated Acquisition Commander here at Hill, our overall responsibilities to the Air Force and all our NATO customers have increased substantially. We now provide a whole host of products and support to our customers, Bergren said. Ten other nations are included in the directorates atmospheric early warning system joint command support agreement. The joint agreement includes countries such as Canada, Australia, Germany, Great Britain, Japan and Saudi Arabia, but, LHs primary customer is the U.S. military and Department of Defense. A special bronze plaque brought from Sacramento by the delegation was presented to Bergren and 400-perso- Schoonover during the ceremony. It will be on display at the LH directorate. The space portion of the directorate was transferred in the fall of 1999 and the seven additional program management divisions now in place at Hill AFB are: Telecommunications Product Group Management This division is the single business decision authority for the acquisition, implementation and logistics support for the ongoing evolution of communications equipment for the Air Force. The products they support include computers, telephones, modems, telecommunications switchers, fiber optics and components and all associated hardware and test equipment for these products. n Range Threat Systems, System Program Division This division is the single manager responsible to keep systems that support threat simulation for realistic combat environments training. These environment simulation systems are used to increase combat effectiveness and aircrew survivability from such threats as surface-to-ai- r missiles, artillery, airborne interceptors, bomb navigation and terrain following radar, and enemy integrated air defense systems. anti-aircra- ft Atmospheric Early Warning System, System Support Management Division AFWS provides modification and full logistics supradars. Weather Systems Support Management Division Responsibilities of the division include providing sustainment of a wide variety of ground based weather systems, such as radars, fixed and tactical sensors, and ground terminals. Ground Tactical Air Control System, System Support Management Division GTACS provides sustainment and modification of logistics support for systems that include the Joint Tactical Information Distribution System. This system provides the Joint Forces Air Component commander with battle management resources for situational awareness, operational planning, and execution of the air tasking order as well as control of all air assets within a global combat theater.
