SLCC 7 71 This weekend would prove to be disappointing for the women They just couldn't walk away with a win Many people say it's all in the cards and it's all in its own good time Well a win just wasn't in the cards for the Lady Eagles and the time must not have been right The last time the ladies met with Salt Lake Community College they lost by a difference of nine points After a loss the night before to UVSC the ladies came out ready to play and play strong During the first half the ladies kept the score close ending the half down by seven points The Lady Eagles came back after the half looking even stronger narrowing the lead to 45 46 with 12:20 left to play Thirty seconds later the ladies were down by one point They would not be able to pull ahead of SLCC until the clock had run down to 59 seconds With ten minutes left CEU finally had a team that was playing strong offensively as well as that for 85-7- Poinls: llalch and Hawks 16 King II lleusser K Elison and Kallas 6 Allen 5 Cummings 3 and Kathi McKay 2 Assists: King 6 lleusser 5 Cummings 3 Haleb and Hawks 2 Allen and Elison I Steals: Elison 5 Cummings 4 King 2 and lleusser Kallas and McKay I 67 The Lady Eagles had gone into the weekend thinking they could possibly beat Dixie and would lose to Snow This would at least give them a split for a weekend on the road They were wrong though and would walk onto the court to play Dixie with a win under (heir hells from the night before The Lady Eagles fell behind early against Dixie and never were able to get ahead and back into the game According to Paur the (cam played strong Strong is all they needed to he seated in seventh place in region play Head coach Paur feels that seventh is a good place for them They would really like to match up against SLCC in region playoffs because Paur feels that would be the best team for them to play They would have liked lo sweep the weekend but they walked away happy with a split and a final score against Dixie of CEU 56 Dixie 67 CEU 56-Dix- ie Points: Hawks 1 2 Hatch and King V Allen and Elison 8 Cummings and lleusser 5 Assists: I leusser 4 Elison 3 Kallas and King I Steals: lleusser 7 Elison 4 King 3 and Allen Hatch and McKay I The Lady Eagles take on Treasure Valley Com- munity College Friday Feb 24 at 5:30 pm in the BDAC They will play the College of Southern Idaho Saturday Feb 25 at 5:30 pm after the "Pack The BDAC" party |
