Columbia university uni-versity has aholish'd the game or root-hill, root-hill, as at present played, ns one of the sports In which students ,r the nnlvrr- slty win ho permitted t,. encase This action was taken n( n meeting of the Columbia university on student organization, organ-ization, held tonight at the university, uni-versity, nt which were present the members mem-bers of the committee: prof Lord, chairman; chair-man; Prof Mitchell and Prof Odell, and also President Butler and Deans Kirch-way Kirch-way and Brogart, the two hitter former chairmen of the committee. The following fol-lowing preamble and resolutions were adopt.-. 1 Under the authority conferred by the university council On student organizations organiza-tions "to supervise and control all student stu-dent organizations, athletic ami other which In any way represent the university univer-sity before the public; It Is Resolved That from ond nrter December Si li.;. the football association of Columbia unlv.-rvlty shall bo disbanded, before which elate all Its accounts shall be settled.
