Hunting Under Regulation Superintendent of the Bear River Migratory Bird refuge is Vanez Wilson. Aided by a staff of experts, he administers the affairs of the marshes under his control to the complete satisfaction of the biological survey and sportsmen of this area alike. All hunters are required to register, to have their guns checked and to abide by govern' ment regulations when hunting on the great marshes. Boats driven by outboard motors are almost a necessity to enjoy all of the advantages for shooting the open units of the area offered, but nearly every resident of Box Elder county owns or has access to a boat and motor suitable for this type of hunting, and most of them are willing to make their equipment available to visitors to this area who wish to try the worlds finest waAfter the terfowl shooting. hunt is over, hunters are required to check out, and their birds are counted and Inspected to prevent law violations and to keep an exact record of the number of birds of each species taken each season. A fine road leads directly west from Brigham City to the refuge. Visitors to Utah and Brigham City this summer will find at the refuge, even more so than at the national parks and other government-owned that attractions, they are welcomed as part owners and Interested parties In this federal reservation. Visitors Welcome Wilson and his staff always are willing and eager to do all they can to help the visitor see to give interesting information regarding the refuge and its population of birds, even to accompany tours over the refuge, pointing out the birds, naming their species and telling some hard-surface- d thing of their characteristics and habits. When this is impossible, the staff will always be glad to give directions as to interesting drives that may be taken over the refuge dikes, and what to be looking for. 106TH TEAR OF UTAH'S PROGRESS ' Sixyears have elapsed since Utahs Centennial Celebration which signified a hundred years of progress a hundred years duning which a wilderness was transformed into a land of milk and honey.
